Dictionary pgs. for wallpaper, how do you seal it?

I wallpapered our bathroom with VERY OLD dictionary pages (with illustrations) and am wondering how do I seal it so that it doesn't get dirty or tear? If I use a liquid won't it discolor the pages and make the ink run? Any advise is much appreciated. I love the way it looks, now I need to know how to protect it. Thanks!
