I removed the asbestos siding, and found tar paper secured by roofing nails. I removed the tarpaper, but a lot of roofing nails are left. I want to stain the shingles, but how do I remove the nails without damaging the shingles? What do I do about the holes left in the shingles? What about painting instead of staining, will the nails still show if I am unable to remove them? HELP!!
