Removing Wallpaper

There are plenty of commercial solvents you can add to water and then using a sponge or rag, dampen the wallpaper doing a section at a time. Keep going over a section repeatedly until it peels easily using a putty knife. It just takes patience, drop cloths and the right solution. I also have used vinegar mixed with warm water. There is a tool called a paper tiger which puts little holes in the paper - helps to saturate it.
If the plaster is decent, you shouldn't have to worry. If it's really old, you may have to do some patching afterwards. Even patching is not hard. Hope this helps!
