Hello folks,

I have a very large and beautiful amethyst geode,a natural rock formation with hundreds of individual amethyst stones inside. It cracked during shipment and a large portion at the top separated. I, being totally inept at this type of thing, used glue I purchased to bond ceramics, stone, etc and put what I thought to be a light coat on both separated portions, then set the top back on. The glue has since seeped through to the front, covering about 2 inches in width and about a foot in length of the amethyst crystals, totally ruining the color and value of the thing. I suspect there has to be a way of cleaning this but as you can imagine it is impossible to go between each crystal to do that. As amethyst crystals are almost the consistency of a diamond, I suspect they can take being doused with something that can just take care of dissolving this layer of glue. Can you suggest what I can do about this, and do you have a product that will resolve this for me?
