In reply to Rheem Criterion furnace by Jeff on March 7th, 2003 11:44 AM [Go to top of thread]

I have an 11 year old Rheem furnace that I am having problems with. It looks like I need a new heat exchange ($600 + 600 labor), ignitor (don't know the cost but I am sure its over $150) and a new circut board ( $250-$400). I understand that the heat exchange is covered by a warranty but I have to pay for the labor and shipping of the product.

I have had two different techmicians come out to the house and this is the info. that they have given me. I have tried to locate an email for customer service for Rheem and there is nothing. I don't feel that I should be putting this much money into an 11yr old furnace. The origional cost of the furnace which included install, 11 yrs ago, was approx. $3000 which included an air cleaner and humidifer. I also do not have the money to pay for the repairs, especially at Christmas time. I woud appreciate any help that you can pass on to me about Rheem and any suggestions you might be able to give me.

Thank you,
Allison
