removing black residue!

Actually, my experience was just the opposite, the sanding of the black residue was not possible and would have taken the flooring too low...nor would any chemicals product work..the solution, boiling hot water, and newspaper..removed it immediately, and in 13 hours, I had beautiful original pine, with no chemicals, and no extra sanding...
