another world heard from. Posted by Jason on December 8th, 2003 02:29 PM In reply to my overkill by tomh on December 8th, 2003 12:40 PM [Go to top of thread]
Greetings All,
I own a Toro single stage blower and quite frankly, it's good to do tight areas such as walkways as long as the snow is not too deep or heavy. That is what I bought it for, to be able to lift it out the back of my truck with throughing out my back. Like most contractors in N.E., you swing a hammer in the good weather and push snow in the bad weather.
It has what they call a Power Curve that is basicaly two curved scoops made out of the same material the make fan belts out of.
Well, I got rid of the old truck and did not get a plow for the new one. The Power Curve is now doing a double wide driveway about 80' long. It is clearly over it's head.
It clogs on a regular basis and I find myself ramming back and forth to clear an area. It's to the point where the wife has told me to buy a new two stage thrower.
I have been looking at another Toro because I have had no trouble with it as far as running is concerned. I went to their website at www.Toro.com and looked some over. It's a pretty good site and they do give you the MSRP.(I'm trying to stay below a grand)
So she might want to check that out as well.
I looked at the MTD site where they list Troy-Built, Yikes I could go visit Tomh for that money and maybe eat a citrus.
Best regards,
