Jennifer, I have to agree with Dale. I just purchased a 92-year old kit house that needs a roof tear-off and negotiated with the sellers to put the cost of a new roof into an escrow account. For a really good price, I got a house and a new roof. Could work for you. Whatever you decide, good luck. It's a lot of work, but there's nothing like owning your own home.
