I have a 50 year old house with a gravity air furnace. The furnace is about that old too. It works great! I just had the gas valve replaced, and the service guy said that basically I have a new furnace. He says that very little goes wrong with these furnaces. Why would I need to replace it - how would I know that I need to. I like the quiet, subtle, even heat that it produces. I am thinking of selling this house - if the furnace works, why would I want to replace it. Thanks!
