My husband likes the way the wood grains appear (antiquish)and the wood trim have darkened over the years. it is just the darker black "patina" that is bothersome and looks dirty. Some dark areas are found on the top corners of the doorways, top of the banisters and some on the sides of the window trims. The rest of the woodwork is fine.
Maybe mineral spirits may work. Is this toxic and where can i find this? I just want the darker aged/dirty spots to disappear so the wood grains in those areas reappear. I hope this clarifies....
