Is the most common name. Henry gave you good advice. Any dirt or moisture that found it's way into the gas supply would go to the bottom of the short nipple (should be at least 3") and not into the gas valve. Small particles of dirt and/or moisture can seriously damage the delicate parts inside the gas valve.
