We purchased these units about 5 years ago because we live in an area of California that has water issues and we wanted the most effecient units we could get. We had mold problems in the gasket immediately so I just made sure that I wiped it out after the final use and also began to spray a bleach cleaner on the seal. This was an acceptable but bothersome solution. Then I found out that they would replace the gasket/door assembly and I was very satisfied with Maytag's prompt action and our local appliance store's immediate response. I still wipe the gasket out of habit. Now I am noticing a noise during the cycle and once the washer seemed to stop mid cycle and I thought it was because I was washing a pair of shoes causing it to go out of balance. After reading other postings, maybe I have a problem too. Now when I call for service I know there are others out there. Does anyone else think the dryer takes too long?
