Although an anodized metal surface will accept paint, you cannot achieve a convincing metallic finish using paints. The existing shower stall may have a lacquer clear coat to protect the brass finish. It can be masked, lightly sanded and painted, but before you do something you might regret, experiment on a towel bar or something less expensive.
