when the heat pump turns on cooler air is expelled thru the vents until it warms up. during that time the expelled air smells like wet dog hair or similar. i have a dog but she does not smell like that. after the air warms up the expelled air does not smell anymore. it happens in the summer as well when the aircondition starts up. i don't know what rats or mice smell like when they are dead or anything that smells like this. what could this be? sometimes it does not smell but most time it does. what could the reason be for bad air coming out of the vents? did anybody ever experience this?
