Wrong apppiance Dan O. The above link is for a clotheswasher. The 2000 UPC requires an airgap on all dishwasher installations. That means you need to do a countertop airgap (by drilling another hole) or by putting a johnson tee inside the wall.

That being said, dishwashers worked for years without airgaps. If this is not being inspected just loop the drain hose as high as you can under the sink to prevent siphonage.
