I have kitchen cabinets installed in 1986. They are a medium dark color. I want to clean the cabinets and then re-stain, touch up any wear point areas, and then put a cover coat of somehthing to enhance the color. I have gotten advice to use mineral spirits to clean and or Acetone, then use a slightly darker stain to cover the wear points and then a WATCO type coating as a final finish. Please provide your recommendations for Oregon environment.
