Congrads on your new home.Tom has the right recipe for draining your cellar. If you feel up to it install the perimeter drain {Dutch drain, French drain } your self. Waterproofing companies charge thousands for a simple job. It will save you money. Find the lowest spot on the floor start from there, mount the sump then dig back for the drain. The local sand and stone company can deliver the crushed rock then get the swiss pipe at Home Depot. As far as sump pumps go I like the Ridgid 12 h.p. pedastal or the Little Giant submersibles. Hard pipe the pump with 1 and 12 p.v.c. pipe. Dump off the water outside where the land slopes away from the house.Write if theres more questions. C.
