my floor furnance pilot stays lit but the main burner doesnt engage .my pilot and thermopile(?)
are side by side but there is a third solid wire which is connected to the bottom of the valve below the outlet gas pipe.i believe this is the thermocouple but there is no sensor attached to end near pilot.can the sensor desinegrate and if this is the problem when i replace it does the sensor go directly in pilot flame or near it.
