Ken, most motor,(some) have a hump extrusion on the motor itself that houses the capacitor. It maybe a stainless oblong device or bakelite black cyclinder. The capacitor in short produces a boost of energy to quickly start a elec. motor to speed, rather than slower rev to speed.
