We just had new kitchen cabinets built and installed and painted ..and we wanted the same distressed look...I think that you want ...we just sanded wear spots in random places on the cabinet doors around the edges and close to the areas where the knobs would be to give them the WORN look....then protected all of the surfaces with a good coat of varnish.
