After reading all the hype on the internet about torsion springs I called my Garage Door company and asked a couple of questions regarding the torsion spring installation. Then I asked if they would come out and set the torsion spring for me and if so, what that would cost. The guy sluffed it off and said "it's easy to do - anyone can do it!". I guess I found the one garage door company on the planet that doesn't think it takes a rocket scientist to install and tension a torsion spring on a garage door. Unfortunately, I'm not sure his words of encouragement were very reassuring.
