Glaze your tub

Henry is right. You can have your tub painted with epoxy. Only an appliance painter should be used. There are many companies that do this now. The crews they have are not great painters, they have they great paint.
There are limitations, though. You can only use certain approved cleaners, bacause your typical scrubbers will rough-up the finish, it will chip if you drop something sharp like scissors, or a metal razor, and it will never be babies-butt smooth.
I have seen 10 repainted tubs. Everyone has minor dust specs in the finish. If the painter is not good the edges will bleed onto your floor , or tile and look like crap.
It still cost $400 and a tub is $200. I would only use the paint option if you are only going to live there for 3 years or less. Or, if removing the tub to replace is cost prohibitive.
