I just posted a message on here about the asbestos siding on my house and the fact we want to put vinyl siding on over it hopefully. I have been reading up on this and just realized that the asbestos siding that is exposed upstairs in the storage area may be harmful??? Our house has been added on to by previous owners years ago. The old outside wall which is inside the house has busted asbestos shingles, many pieces missing and brokened. Is this a threat to the whole inside of the house???? My husband recently replaced our back door and when he removed the old door frame a few pieces of the asbestos shingles broke that was around the door. My husband said not to worry because he knew where to find replacements pieces...upstairs. So he went up and removed a few pieces and put them up on the house outside. I saw where the shingles are upstairs and it does not look safe to me...to have all those exposed broken ends. What should we do? What do we use to seal the broken ones?
I guess it was stupid for my husband to go up there and play with the stuff huh?
