Hi Joanna,
You can try coffee grounds, and or activated charcoal, the kind they use in fish tanks, which you can get at most pet stores. They absorb odors...
Then try lining the drawers with newsprint or brown paper bags. These also absorb odors...but it takes a long time. I removed some of he odor from an old cedar chest I was given, but it still has some smell to it, and I had it outside on the back porch all summer.
