In reply to Buckled concrete slab and removal of floor tile by Tim on December 30th, 2003 10:49 AM [Go to top of thread]

have to rip up floor and knock out high spots of concrete and repour concrete to level

any concrete contractor should be able to do this in a day from the sound of it, probally a grand or 2

hardwood flooring on a concrete slab is a no-no though as there is a moisture issue that will have that hardwood buckleing before you get it finished

there are ways of doing it with vopor barriers and plywood sub flooring, you will loose anywhere from 1 half to 4 inches in ceiling height depending on what you choose. you may have to pull out the cabinets in kitchen and reinstall after floor was done

walk on this house and find another one unless the price is well undervalued
