Some surrounds are plastic and some are fiberglass but the repair technique is about the same...it will require epoxying a similar material patch over the hole and sanding it smooth, then painting it to match (the hard part)...They have repair kits that should do the trick at home improvement stores or even at auto zone (did you know a LOT of home-improvement materials can be purchased at the local auto parts dealers).
