if that plastic had caught fire, the whole house would have gone down.

candles are parafin and that can ingnite also, so besides the risk from the open flame, your base is filled with fuel(parafin), either way, even ifs its away from combustables, its a combustable itself

throw em out and dont allow in your house

as far as repairing your surround, other than a fiberglas patch i cant think of anything

if your up to patching with fiberglas cloth, go to a boat store and get a figerglas cloth and resin and i walk you thru the repair

its going to seal the water but wont look good at all
