Thanks for all your comments, hav now changed the diverter valve and everything seemed fine, but the problem has now moved on, now sometimes when I ask for hot water or central heating the boiler does not light although the fan is going to max, this ia an intermittent prob....
any help greatly appriciated..
the pilot light does not go out....
