Laura, the adhesion qualities are such that it is not likely to work. I presume that is the reason for the failure the first time around with linoleum. I do understand that we are talking different flooring systems altogether. The glaze on the existing tile is such that a failure is likely to occur in a short time in respect to adhesion to the first layer.
