How do I remove the screwless doorknob plate

I'm having a proublem getting to the screws under the doorknob plate. It seems like you would need an L shape screwdriver to get to the screws. Can anybody tell me how to get this standard keyless doorknob off? Is my only alternative to bend the plate back so I can get to the screws?
Please help.
