cleaning old hardwood flooring

We recently purchased a home built in 1915. All the floors are quartersawn oak on the lower level and maple on the second floor. We had all but one room professionally refinished. My question is for the floor that we didn't have refinished, what kind of cleaner should I use on it? The floor appears to have some type of coating on it, but it could be years of wax that has built up. I don't want to ruin the floor. Any suggestions? Thanks!
