I have and old fan that I have connected to a light switch. Coming down through the fan is one black wire and one white. I have a light on the fan, which has a pull chain to turn the light off/on. It also has a pull chain to change the speeds of the fan. I need to know how to hook-up the wiring to make both operate correctly. Another question is, the pull chain went bad. Do they make a pull chain switch for a three-speed fan or will any pull chain switch work? Currently the black wire is connected to the black wire to the light and the white is connected to the white wire on the light. The light seems to operate OK. I am not sure how to wire the fan (HELP).
