air in shallow well system Posted by John Neumann on January 5th, 2004 08:46 AM
Air is entering my shallow well system (35ft) and causing spitting and sputtering out of all the exits. I do not lose my prime, however. What can cause this problem and is there an easy way to correct without digging up the 2 inch casing? (it's winter) I have thought about adding a 50 gallon supply side tank with plumbing to bleed air if the supply tank starts filling with air. This tank would be between the check valve and the pump. Any comments? Thanks!
