It's probably aluminum tubing and if you didn't weld it (and not many people can) fridge is shot. Poking at a fridge to defrost it is expensive right? Moreover most fridges are cheaply made and do not have service ports, now assuming you put on a self piercing port how you going to evacuate the system first?
