I found one solution to remove really stubborn contact paper from inside cabinets, since no one on the internet seemed to know I used creativity. I moistened an old towel with water (not totally soaking wet) and plugged in my clothes iron. I put the moist towel over the contact paper and then ironed the towel so that as the towel got heated so did the contact paper underneath. After doing this for not too long I was able to lift the contact paper up pretty easily.
