How to remove super glue from hands

When my 19 month old son got into the super glue, it was all over his hands and his hair. I called the poison control center. They told me to use vegetable oil or baby oil. It worked better than nail polish remover. His regular shampoo got most of the glue out of his hair, believe it or not.
