Cory, the poster was referring to evacuation of air to be replaced by CFC or HFC or whatever refrigerent is appropriate to the appliance. Part of the charging is to purge air from the system or it won't work properly. Today, the purchase of CFC (freon 12, 22 etc) is restricted to licensed individuals that can capture venting and recycle it (40 CFR Part 80). No one here can help you find what you need to recharge your old fridge, and quite honestly, the cost to repair the damage you did, and apply a new charge would exceed the cost of buying a replacement.
