Heating Question

Posted by Greg on January 7th, 2004 09:30 AM

I'm finishing a room over the garage. (28'x16'). Ther is one exterior wall with a window.(16') The rest is a four foot framed wall then the roof line to nine feet at the center. The room is already roughed in for baseboard heat but the pipes are at the end of the room oposite the window. It would be easy to run the supply and returns along the floor behind the studs to the 16" outside wall and have the baseboard run that wall.

Would it be more cost effective to simply install electric baseboard heat to the room? It would be cheaper to install but more expensive to run. There is also about a thirty to forty foot run from where the supply and return enter the basement to the furnase.
Any suggestions?
