Hampton Bay Callaway II ceiling fan

I purchased a HB Callaway II ceiling fan, which was working fine until recently...the light is set at 24% power (dimmed)...after a while, it will automatically go on 100% power and the fan will go on high. I'm not sure why it's doing this-there are no timers set and the fan is set to manual mode. The temp. in the room is lower than the set temp. on the remote. Could you please help me figure out why it's doing this? Thanks
