Texture new Walls

Any sugestion's on easy methods of texturing new walls, bare drywall? I prefer not to apply spray. This is a new home, in the garage, but garage's today are many times finished as nice as the rest of the home. Walls, at present, are drywalled, no tape or spakling has been applied yet.
