Everything Henry suggests is correct. I too have had good luck using DIF. For my most recent project, I spend a few extra dollars and bought a Wagner Model 705 Power steamer ($49) and a Zinsser scraper ($7) and Paper Tiger ($6). The steamer took 20 minutes to warm up, then produces lots of steam and allowed the paper to be stripped very quickly. The scraper is designed to be fool proof. It has rounded corners and maintains a shallow angle perfect for stripping paper. I had very few gouges in the wall when completed, and those were easily repaired. Compared to using DIF ($6 /concentrate quart), the results were about equal, but there was less gummy mess, no water down the arm, and the steamer / scraper did not leave any glue residues, making a final cleaning of the walls unnecessary. If you have several rooms to strip, the steamer is worthwhile, otherwise the DIF stripper is very effective and much less expensive. The cost of the steamer is equal to about 2-days of commercial steamer rental, and does the same thing, just not as fast.

Wallpaper removal is not difficult, and some relatively inexpensive tools are now available to make it even easier.
