How to bleed steam radiators

I've never heard of bleeding steam radiators, but I'd love to know how to get rid of the water that's stuck in there. A lot of banging going on. Radiators are pitched, but I think some of the pipes are not.

Anyway, to answer your question, There are different size valves you use. For instance radiators further away should have a higher number valve (5 or 6). Those closer may have a 2 or 3. There are also letter size valves (A,B,C). Home depot sells the valves and has a pretty good pamphlet explaining what size valves should be used where. Good Luck.
