2002 ford ranger 4x4 4 litre automatic trans.

recently visited my ford dealer for oil change. They advised the trans fluid was brown and smelled bad. advised me to flush. I did that. Discussion: service manager said it was due to the way I drive. I am 62 yrs old and take very good care of vehicle and advised them of that. They also said it could be because of pulling a trailer. I have pulled light weight trailers.
