Installing a solid shower base

I am installing a new shower base (Corian-like material) in a slab-on-grade bathroom. The only drain I can find that I can install from above is for tile installations. The lip on this drain is too thick, as it sticks up approx. 1/8"-1/4" above the base. This will not drain properly. I have found another drain that I can install directly to the base prior to installation, but the base is very heavy and it is for a corner installation. Lowering this base onto the drain pipe would be very difficult (both weight-wise and precision-wise)...Is there a drain product that will work for my installation so that I can install the base and THEN the drain?
Thanks!
Doug
