Paint or Decal on Finished Wood?

I just sanded, painted, and put a polyurethane coating on my coffee table. I want to put a white lily on it somehow, and I'm wondering if anyone has advice? Are there colored decals I can put on the wood besides the inkjet printer decals? Would a stencil and paint come out better? Has anyone done something like this before?
