Lennox Whisper Heat, problem

We have a 9 year old Lennox Whisper Heat furnace that is shutting down about every day and a half. The heating company has been in 3 times now, and has no solution for us after charging us for repair. They are suggesting changing the circuit board. (Another stab in the dark?) We are very frustrated as this guess will cost over $500.00 and is not guaranteed to work. It is also very cold to have your heat cutting out every day and a half (-40 C) Help! Anyone?
