I Had one installed in May 2002.
On the coldest night of this year, jan. 2004, it went down.
My tank cracked up top at the burner.
The installer told me there is a defect in the Water tank that cracks over time, he has had several since he started installing them. Lennox informed him of this defect. I had a bit of water in the lower end of the system but not a lot, over a period of what the installer said was a few weeks.
The installer originally talked me into the system and was nice enough not to charge me for the change out.
Overall, the system is excellent and I never run out of hot water. That is the only problem I have had. We asked the installer what was going to happen. He said him and many other contractors are in negotiations with lennox. What that means for the end user, I don't know.
