Applying texture is easy, just practice on a scrap piece of drywall to get the effect you want. In general, the lower the pressure and larger nozzle on the orifice, the larger the texture pattern will be. For finer orange peel textures thin texture to a thick milkshake consistency, use the small or medium orifice and pressure at about 25 - 29 psi, and set trigger to 1/2. For knockdown, use medium orifice, slightly thicker texture, 20 - 25 psi and set trigger stop to 3/4. Keep moving the texture gun up and down or across the surface just like spray painting, otherwise you will get a build up and uneven effect.
Experiment on scrap, and keep in mind that until painted, texture is easily removed if you make mistakes. Just dive in and you will probably find it is easier than you think. Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
