I was digging up my thin basement floor to re-cement areas that had risen, and to add drainage tiles around the perimeter, when I found some 3-1/2" terra cotta pipes. Each pipe was about 12 inches long with an approximate 2 inch gap between them. Could this be some previous water controll system?
P.S. I have also looked into those interior water-channel type baseboard systems that direct water into a sump. I haeard that there's an article in a past Family Handiman (?) magazine that showed how to make one out of plastic gutters cut in half and inverted. I need info on what kind of glues to use, etc. If you have seen the article, or know what I talking about, please help. Any advise would be great.
