When spring rolls around, I'd like to replace an ancient stovetop exhaust fan that although is imbedded into the ceiling, the fan doesn't vent to the outside (I think it vents to the attic space because there isn't a shaft that penetrates the roof sheathing!) How hard is it to do this? Is it like installing skylight? What are features that I should look for when shopping for a replacement? Any suggestions?
